“When you come into my pieces, it’s not an intellectual experience, it’s a physical experience.”
However, it is not only an interest towards technological experimentation that drives the artist’s technical and aesthetic decisions, it is also the way of using visuals to invite a meditative and contemplative response, one that requires the viewer to concentrate for a longer duration of time and simultaneously increase his preoccupied memory. My interest lies in that moment of exchange between the viewer and the artwork when the energy is released and the viewer achieves a new awareness. Viola says –“the real investigation is of life and being itself and the medium is just the tool in this investigation”. I wish to create a space for spectators to move around my work at their pace and quietly observe and to be fully immersed.
